Springfield Golf ClassicTM
and Smith Barney Corporate Cup

The Springfield Golf Classic and Smith Barney Corporate Cup is the premier summer golf outing in the Springfield area. Now in its fourteenth year, the Classic has continually grown in participation and money raised. Introduced Springfield Golf Classic in 2003, the Smith Barney Corporate Cup is the morning feature of the event, and identifies the best corporate golf team in the greater Springfield area.

Proceeds from the Springfield Golf Classic and Smith Barney Corporate Cup benefit the Richard H. Moy, M.D., Pulmonary Research Fund. The American Lung Association established this fund in 1993 to honor Dr. Moy’s 24 years of service as Dean of the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. In 2006, through the efforts of the Springfield Golf Classic and Smith Barney Corporate Cup committee and the greater Springfield business community, a $104,815 check was presented to the Richard H. Moy, M.D., Pulmonary Research Fund at the SIU School of Medicine.

To date, the American Lung Association has contributed nearly one million dollars to fund pulmonary research at the medical school.

The 2007 Springfield Golf Classic and Smith Barney Corporate Cup will take place on
June 4, 2007
At Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Illinois
